Sorry for the late post, but these birds were not likely chaseable anyway. At about 2:30 pm on 4/16, I saw 3 Am. White Pelicans flying fairly high to the north near 6300 Grand River Ave. I tried following them, but by the time I cut up Hogback Road to Sharpe road, I had already lost sight of them. Pretty impressive birds in flight! Seems like they've been popping up in a few places over the last week or so. Keep your eyes up!

Chris,

Good find! These impressive looking birds are indeed becoming more common in Michigan. I was working in the UP a few years back and stayed in a motel in Menominee and as I was looking out over Lake Michigan from my window saw two flying by- it was a great end of the day.
