I went out looking for Dickcissel at lunch today. No luck with any Dickcissel, but I did find a signing Marsh Wren on Pleasant Valley Road about 1/2 mile south of M59 in a wetlands area on the east side of the road. The road is paved at this point, but there is not a lot of traffic as it turns to dirt a little further south of the marsh area. There was a large power line pole in the middle of the marsh area. I seem to find a Marsh Wren somewhere in the county every year, but not many, and this is the first one that I have turned up in Hartland.

Hope we can find some Dickcissels in Livingston this year. They seem to be in good numbers just south of us.
