Greetings All,

Once again it is time to survey for spring migrants as part of the statewide May Count day. Many of you have already heard that this will be the last count that will be sponsored by Michigan Audubon Society with the results published in Michigan Birds and Natural History, the organizations' journal. So this will be the 25th year that the count has been held in Livingston County as a successor to the original May Count conducted for many years by the Hartland Nature Club.

If you are interested in covering a township this year please contact me and I will begin to assign coverage as in past years. New participants are always welcome so if you have not been on the count before there are townships that need coverage. It wouldn't be hard to accommodate you!

Also you might consider your interest in continuing the May Count tradition in the county. Do we want to continue on our own and publish a summary of the count results and add them to this website? Your comments would be most welcome.

Please put me down for Marion township again this year.

I would be interested in continuing the count if there is enough interest.

I'm in for Green Oak. I also would like to see the count continue.

OK. So far Cohoctah, Green Oak, and Marion townships are spoken for. Deerfield, Putnam, and Unadilla I expect will be covered though I am awaiting independent confirmation off of this website. About the same level as in past years. I hope we can add at least one more township this year yet.

Stay tuned. I have not yet received forms from the state coordinators; but they should arrive soon.

Thanks to all who have responded so far.
